Technology Operations Technician

2012 – 2018 / Jersey City, NJ

Worked with team responsible for on boarding and off-boarding customers. Granted and removed access to appropriate applications on a timely basis, ensuring compliance.  Promoted continuous improvement to streamline the process of producing quality and timely.

  • Successfully transitioned mainframe applications from an antiquated ticketing system to an efficient and reliable system called RSAM.

  • Trained numerous application teams on the new system relative to their specific application.

  • Developed Standard Operating Procedures for the new system After a review and approval with each application owner and audit, the implementation was done.

  • Reduced ticketing human errors 90%.

  • Reduced customer turnaround time for access from 7 to 3 days.

  • Incorporated new firm wide tool (RSAM) into daily production, used as the new standard by all application owners.

Technology Operations Technician

2006 – 2011 / Whippany, NJ

Responsible for the maintenance and health of 40 mainframe sysplex complexes, 85+ LPARS consoles and batches to meet SLA’s.  Provided coverage for other shifts when needed, overtime, weekend and holiday coverage.  Updated accounts for Batch processing supporting applications on the work unit including batch critical path analysis.  Supported large mainframe systems with functions including batch processing, testing while meeting deadlines and SLA’s.

  • After identifying a slow manual process, suggested taking a snapshot of the manual processes to have them automated.  The result was a dramatic improvement of batch processing performance and speed which ultimately saved processing time.  This resulted in the adoption and implementation of this process within the teams’ overall production cycle.

  • As part of the Bank One merger, created a solution designed to save time and expenses.  Implemented knowledge transfer of this solution among colleagues which created a better method of understanding how Bank One systems would be reset.

  • Significantly decreased time and expenses associated with system shut downs during the maintenance windows.  This resulted in quicker system availabilities. IPL and active interaction with Europe, Asia and other markets.

  • Managed end of day processing to ensure that all money transactions have been processed effectively for customers to see true available balances for next day availability.

  • Support GMI (Futures and Options), IRFE Derivatives, application backups/restores, perform backups using Net Backup programs and manually process UNIX scripts.  Update JCL jobs, perform JCL overrides, restart recovery

  • Manage vendor support and interact with SunGard, CBOT, CME and other US and global financial platforms to ensure proper price indexes and exchanges.

  • Perform weekend maintenance on both UK and US iSeries machines including IPL.

  • Push batch jobs through the system and work on UNIX, Linux based platform to resolve batch issues.
